These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Swim Movement's services, including class enrolment, assessments and all related activities. By booking a class or assessment, you agree to these terms.
1. General
- Participation in our lessons is voluntary; parents/guardians acknowledge and assume responsibility for any associated risks.
- We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule lessons in unforeseen circumstances, with or without prior notice.
- Private swimming lessons with our instructors outside of official Swim Movement arrangements are strictly prohibited, unless officially arranged through us.
2. Enrolment & Assessment
All new swimmers must complete a swim assessment before joining a regular class. Assessments are complimentary and may be booked via WhatsApp, email or our Academy portal. Placement in a class is at the sole discretion of our coaching team, based on the swimmer's assessed ability and comfort level.
3. Fees & Payment
- Fees are collected in advance of each month or term, to secure your child's slot.
- Fees are invoiced via Classcard — please refer to your invoice for payment instructions.
- All fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable, except where a class is cancelled by Swim Movement. We recommend confirming availability before making payment.
- Fees may be revised from time to time; we will give at least 4 weeks' written notice before any change takes effect.
4. Monthly-Plan Deposit
- A 1-month refundable deposit is payable for students on the monthly payment plan.
- The deposit is refundable only upon receipt of 1 month's advance notice of withdrawal. No refund will be made if no notice is given.
5. Makeup Classes
- Makeup classes are granted only if: (a) the lesson was cancelled due to instructor absence, or (b) at least 2 hours' cancellation notice was given.
- Monthly payment: up to 2 makeup classes within the month.
- Term payment: up to 6 makeup classes within a subsequent term of 12 lessons.
- Makeup classes are only eligible to roll over once payment for the following month or term has been made.
- Any additional makeup classes or postponements beyond this policy are subject to management's approval.
6. Cancellations
- Please notify us at least 2 hours before the start of class if you need to cancel.
- Cancellations notified after this window will not qualify for a makeup class.
- For swimmers who are sick or will be away, please let us know in advance so we can arrange makeups for other students in the same slot.
7. Scheduling Options
- Back-to-back classes: two 45-minute sessions scheduled one after another.
- Separate days: e.g. a regular session on Saturday and a makeup on Sunday.
- Private (1:1) sessions: when a class is reduced to one student, we conduct a 1:1, 30-minute session. Makeup sessions in this case will be a 45-minute class, subject to instructor availability.
- Let us know your preferred schedule and we'll do our best to accommodate.
8. Private (1:1) Lessons
- Private lessons are conducted on a one-to-one basis and are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Any cancellation, rescheduling, or makeup request is subject to management's approval and instructor availability.
- To arrange a makeup, please reach out via the class groupchat or WhatsApp us directly.
9. Weather & Haze Policy
- Classes will proceed as scheduled unless there is a thunder or lightning notice issued by NEA, or a 3-hour PSI reading between 151–200 due to haze.
- In such cases, land training will be conducted in a sheltered area to ensure continuity and safety.
10. Public Holidays
No classes are held on gazetted public holidays.
11. Holiday & Travel Plans
Kindly give us at least 3 weeks' advance notice when making holiday or travel plans, so we can plan class arrangements accordingly.
12. Attendance, Behaviour & Safety
- Please arrive on time for scheduled classes; late arrivals will not result in extended class time.
- Missed classes due to late arrival or no-shows are not eligible for a makeup.
- Learners must follow instructors' directions at all times, for the safety of themselves and others.
- We reserve the right to remove a learner from class if their behaviour poses a safety risk or significantly disrupts the lesson; no refund or replacement will be given in such cases.
13. Health & Safety
- Please do not bring your child to class if they have a fever, open wound, contagious illness, or are otherwise unwell — for the safety of all students and instructors.
- Please inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs prior to the start of classes.
- We are not liable for incidents arising from undisclosed medical or health conditions.
14. Liability & Parental Responsibility
- Swimming carries an inherent risk of injury. By enrolling, parents/guardians acknowledge this risk and agree that Swim Movement and its instructors are not liable for injuries sustained during class, except where caused by our negligence.
- For Parent & Child classes and younger learners, parents/guardians are responsible for their child's supervision outside of scheduled class time. Our responsibility begins and ends strictly during the scheduled lesson.
15. Instructor Arrangements
In the event your regular instructor is unavailable for a group class, we will arrange a suitably qualified replacement to conduct the class.
16. Photography, Video & Personal Data
- We may take photos or videos during class for training feedback or marketing (e.g. social media, website), unless otherwise communicated to us in writing.
- Personal data collected (e.g. name, contact details) is used solely for class administration and communication, in line with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
17. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to amend or update these Terms & Conditions as deemed necessary, without prior notice. The current version will always be published on this page. Continued enrolment after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
