Reviews: what Swim Movement families say

A Swim Movement coach guiding a young swimmer holding a pool noodle during a one-to-one lesson

Every swimmer's journey looks different, but the reviews our families and swimmers leave on Google keep landing on the same few things: patient coaches, steady progress and a genuine love of the water. Here is a selection — overwhelmingly five-star — from across our Ubi and SUTD pools, covering kids' learn-to-swim, adult stroke correction, water therapy and instructor training.

The word that comes up most often is "patient". As Steph shared: "We are beyond grateful to Coach Rebecca for the incredible patience and care she has shown while teaching my 6-year-old son how to swim. She took the time to understand his pace, never rushed him, and always made sure he felt safe and supported in the water. Thanks to her gentle guidance, my son has not only learned how to swim but has also grown to love it."

For many children it begins with a fear of the water. "My son was very scared of the water at first," wrote H. Chong, "but under Jonathan's patient tutelage, he has passed his SwimSafer Bronze level. Both my kids enjoy his lessons very much." Siswi Herlini added: "Coach Jon has an amazing heart for his young learners. He speaks in language that kids understand and enjoy — like making pizza to explain the breaststroke."

Adults tend to come to us to fix technique. "Angie is an excellent coach," wrote Azeera Azeez. "In two classes she corrected our strokes and taught us to swim the right way. She breaks swimming down into small steps and gets you to master each one — and she explains the theory as well." Mengxun Zhi was just as direct: "The coach is very patient, and my child mastered freestyle and butterfly in about four lessons."

Others come for water therapy and rehabilitation. "Our three children have been benefitting from Jeremy's patient coaching in swimming and water therapy," said Natalie Tan. "He makes it fun and has helped them all build confidence in the water." Grace Soh, who took our hydrotherapy course, wrote: "The instructor Michael showed us how water therapy can ease people suffering pain, and help them go from stiffness to flexibility, immobility to mobility."

The setting and the small details get a mention too. "Very experienced and knowledgeable swim coaches — you can sense their deep passion for swimming," wrote Adib O. "Administration was excellent and the facilities were clean and well maintained." TengLoo Tee kept it short: "A beautiful private rooftop swimming pool with small student-to-teacher groups. Awesome coaches too."

We are grateful to every family who has taken the time to write about their experience. As Reiko Tan put it: "I'm truly grateful for the guidance, patience and care from all the coaches at Swim Movement. You always take the time to guide Xavier properly and help him feel comfortable and confident in the water."
